Re-vision is about the new landscape of ageing

Growing older, as we see it, is like a journey through a landscape. Arrayed across the land are the things that make the years from mid-life through late life more, or less, fulfilling and valued. Years we can be glad of.

Our purpose at Re-vision is to understand what actually needs to be in that landscape - what opportunities and supports will make the second half of life a time older Australians, diverse as they are, can look back on with pride. And we want to help to ensure those opportunities and supports are in place. In a word, re-visioning the second half of life.

To that end, we are working on a number of 'fronts': reading a great deal and discussing aspects of the landscape with a range of people. We are approaching organisations and local government with a view to starting some projects, to actually trial ways the landscape can be refreshed, renewed.

We continue to design and present workshops and forums. Ann's workshops on memory and on guided autobiography are particularly popular. We have a small book club, 'Getting Older: in Literature and Art', which meets regularly at our office.

And we have embarked on a new venture: A BOOK. Its purpose is to describe howthe landscape of ageing is changing (and why)and what might improve it (and how). We invite you to join us as we write this book
